PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains what information we might collect from or about you, how we look after your personal information and what we do with it.

We're here to support new parents. At our core is a community of like-minded parents who come together to provide support, friendship and inclusivity. By engaging with Positive Birth Jersey’s services, you confirm you have agreed to the Terms and Conditions and read and understood our Privacy Policy.

HOW YOUR PRIVACY IS PROTECTED

When you engage with our services, we only collect information that is required in order to provide you with the service that you have paid for. The personal data that we may collect includes contact details such as your name, address, telephone number and email address.

Due to the services that we offer, we also collect data about your estimated due date. We might also collect some information about the babies of our service users, for example age, gender, and when they were born. We will only collect this from the parent(s) of the baby, or anyone acting for them. On the booking form, we will require explicit consent from you to consent to the collection of this data.

Your information is stored securely in our computer system; we have security systems in place to protect your personal data from loss or misuse. Additionally, we will limit access to your personal data to only those who need to access it. We maintain confidentiality of your data and the individuals accessing your data are required to maintain this level of confidentiality.

WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION

Your details remain in our computer system and are only used by Positive Birth Jersey to arrange our courses. We will send you material related to the course and may inform you about local services and support that are available in your area during and after your pregnancy. Positive Birth Jersey may also contact you with regards to admin information - for example the dates and times of your course, and course materials required.

We encourage socialisation and friendship. Please note that, with your consent, you will be added to a private WhatsApp group with other course participants in order to enable socialisation, communication and friendship. This means that your phone number and name will be visible within the WhatsApp group; your consent for this will be obtained on the booking form that you complete. You can opt out of this on the booking form, and you will only be added to the group with your explicit consent. If you do not wish to be part of this, you may inform us by opting out at the point of booking, or emailing us at positivebirthjersey@outlook.com

We will never share your information with third parties; however, we may use your name and email address to inform you of future offers and similar products.

The law allows personal data to be legally collected, used and stored if it is necessary for a legitimate business interest of the organisation – as long as its use is fair and balanced and does not unduly impact the rights of the individual concerned.

We will retain your information for as long as it is necessary for legitimate business purposes. This is usually for no longer than 3 years for tax purposes.

We never sell your personal data or provide it to third parties for their direct marketing use.
